Siliko was on the rate of 500 fastest growing companies in Europe placed in a high 245. place. Only 3 other Slovene companies were placed higher.

The rate “Market 500.eu” is prepared by Belgium unprofitable organization since 1996. Public and private European companies are included at rating. They have to be established before 2003 and must have had at least 50 employees in year 2005 and not more than 5.000 employees in year 2002. Growth of companies is measured with “Birch Index”, that among others considers growth of income and growth of number of employees in the last three years.

At the rating only companies with headquarter in Europe can participate. On this years ranking companies from 28 countries are included (25 countries from EU, plus Switzerland, Island and Norway).

Among Slovenian companies beside Siliko only 8 other Slovenian companies were ranked. Geographically according to number of ranked companies the highest place goes to Germany (21% of all 500 fastest growing companies have headquarters in Germany), followed by Great Britain and France. Most of the companies are from IT – information technology (23%), other sectors are mostly equalized with 3 to 7%.

European ranking “Market 500.eu” shows and ranks companies that are the power of development and also creators of new working places for new employees. Companies on this years ranking of 500 fastest growing have together created almost 150.000 new working places in the last three years.
